Maybelline better skin foundation

Have you heard about their latest foundation?
Supposedly the vitamin C gives you better skin.
Influenster sent this to me and I'm going to test it out for three weeks to see if the claims are true.

The color I was sent is warm nude.

This seems to be a decent match and I'm happy to tell you it's more yellow based than pink!
Finally!
It claims to be matte but not flat which I like because all matte isn't for me.

I have dry to normal skin and I live in a humid climate so I can't imagine living anywhere that is not this humid I would probably dry up like a raisin.

What I plan to do is wear this every single day for 21 days straight because it claims that the vitamin C will improve the quality of your skin. That is extremely possible scientifically speaking but let's not get ahead of ourselves. I also plan to use this no primer for awhile then primer and powder. Also I will be applying it different ways to see if that makes a difference either.

Pros:
It has a pump
The cap doesn't easily come off
Can see the color clearly
Doesn't shatter if you drop it

Cons:
Smells like latex paint
Dimethicone is the second ingredient on the list (I don't like silicone or any of its homies)
Is a little light for me (maybe with the right one it will be okay but there isn't a ton of shades)

Claims:
Maybelline's SuperStay Better Skin Foundation gives an all-day flawless coverage and better-looking skin in 3 weeks. The foundation reduces the appearance of spots, bumps, dullness and redness and gives you a brighter, more even and smoother skin.

Benefits:
  • All-day, flawless coverage and a better-looking skin in 3 weeks
  • Longwear that improves skin every minute you're in it
  • With the antioxidant power of Actyl-C, a more durable form of Vitamin C
  • For all skin types
  • Medium to full coverage

First week: no primer just regular moisturizer skin care stuff and applied with fingers

It is medium to close to full coverage but because the color match isn't spot on I am reluctant to see if it's buildable until I have a minute to be home and not have to go anywhere.

It takes a minute to dry so powdering right away will probably be a no. I don't plan to powder with this plus the powder I use would make anything look amazing (Sacha Buttercup) if you have ethnic skin.

It might be "long wearing" but it does transfer onto your phone a little.

Nothing horribly wrong or terrific has happened but I will keep you update week to week or if anything notable comes along.

Week 2

I think it works better when it's not a hot and sweaty day outside but I'm pretty sure that's most products.
But I do have dry skin and that helps immensely in it staying on better during the day plus I'm in an ac office.
I haven't noticed terrible oxidation or anything like that. Or breakouts! Usually vitamin C or silicones especially both will give me some serious cystic acne. Thankfully nothing has cropped up. Applied with a brush gives some serious full coverage which is great for at night. I'm not a full coverage type of person for daytime.
Still noticed it transfers onto my phone.

Week 3
Is my skin better? I don't know about that or at least not a noticeable difference
But also nothing bad has happened from this. Not even clogged pores or overly clogged like with regular makeup use. I did notice that when I went to use a different foundation when I was going out at night that foundation felt heavy to me because I've been wearing to this one for three weeks. The good thing about this but I'm not really sure if it would constitute as a difference, is that it doesn't dry out my skin or make it oily it's very comfortable feeling even after I take it off it's almost like I've had lotion on my face that isn't too creamy but it also doesn't soak in and evaporate within an hour. Odd but good!

Overall I really did like the Maybelline better skin foundation I think that it definitely is a great every day wear.

Pros
Yellow-based, nonoily, not drying, looks like real skin, doesn't break you out, might actually be beneficial longer-term than three weeks, and has a decent wear time 8 hours & has a pump!

Cons
has a limited color selection, if you are not yellow based this might not be for you, if you are very oily skin this might not be for you
